Analytical Primary Source Essay Sample

Analytical Primary Source Essay SampleI'm sure you've seen the analytical primary source essay sample in a textbook, and thought to yourself - 'My teacher is making a big mistake here!' or, 'This is just too easy!'Yes, as the teacher will probably admit, most of us know very little about anything, and much of what we do know is generated from primary sources (not secondary sources). And that's fine. If you're in high school, you're not supposed to have much knowledge beyond reading textbooks - and yet, at least for many of us, that's not enough. In an analytical primary source essay sample, most of your assignments involve working with primary sources that already exist. You either rely on articles in school magazines, newspapers, and books, or you use lists compiled by the school counselor. And that's fine. It's OK, as long as you understand that most of the information that you read in primary source materials is already in the public domain. If you don't understand how to read a text , you're basically stuck relying on secondary sources. And those sources are generally supposed to be from a wide variety of places, and contain a lot of different information. So it's OK, that's what you get paid to do.Of course, if you're a teacher who doesn't understand the first thing about a primary source, you might want to consider talking to someone who does. Why? Because there's a big difference between having no knowledge of primary sources and having only general knowledge.A student who has to do research on things he doesn't understand doesn't stand a chance of knowing much about a primary source - except that it doesn't matter what they say. So, having someone who can show you how to read primary sources, will greatly improve your chances of doing it well.As far as the analytical primary source essay sample goes, there's nothing wrong with this. But it's fine for your high school homework.
